A nonprofit built to keep Southwest Florida's waterways open
Southwest Florida Eco-tourism Alliance is a Florida nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. We exist to protect public access to the waterways that define this region — from Shell Key Preserve to the broader network of paddling, boating, and coastal recreation areas that residents and visitors rely on.

What we're organized to do

Protect access — Safeguarding public paddling, boating, and coastal access to Shell Key Preserve and other Southwest Florida waterways.

Educate — Informing paddlers, boaters, residents, visitors, policymakers, and public agencies about lawful and responsible waterway access.

Promote responsible recreation — Encouraging safe, environmentally respectful paddling, boating, and coastal use.

Research and publish — Producing maps, public-records analysis, reports, and guides on public access and waterway policy.

Support advocacy — Backing public-interest legal, educational, and advocacy efforts that protect public trust access to Florida's waters.

Lessen government burden — Providing research, education, and policy analysis that supports transparent, informed government decision-making on waterway access.
